A different and entertaining perspective from the usual match report, defender Junior Baker spills his thoughts of the game on to the page.
"Well well well what a result.
I must say that the first half of playing against my old side has to be the poorest that I have ever played. The boss did say that in areas of the pitch were ok in patches after the warm up it was heavy and hard without getting your feet planted into the soft mud. It felt like a swamp.
I wasn't all there to be fair and my concentration was else where and that affected me big time. Although the pitch was heavy it was still no excuse for the poor first half that I had and the boss gave me and everyone a pounding when we got into the changing room at the break.
When you play against your old club, I dunno, I'm the type of person that wants to win no matter what happens. Its not about proving points for me, no matter who I play for on the day, I will always give my best but the first half I had something on my mind init boys.
When the boss said what he had to say just before going out, I got up shook everyones hand and BAKES was back. The fire in my belly came back and I was hungry and it showed throughout the team.
Everyone was passing, being more relaxed, chasing down balls taking the game to Tilbury, trying to revive such a poor first half and it really showed the desire was back. I think it was the hand shake. Chances and chances were being created and I even had one my self, resulting in heading a ball from a corner which any where else aimed it would of gone in and that would have hurt.
I was talking more second half encouraging the team wining my taclkes and headers and feeling like yeah we are going to win this game and where everyone was playing really well the the patience payed off with the Rockstar (Cable) dribbling as always to score a massive goal which was rewarding.
We always seem to get these referees and linesmans at home that not only dont have a clue what there doing but the choices they make could end up being mind blowning and its a shame because with out them theres no game with them it seems to be most times disasterous.
The "MUSKATEERS" what a title got a clean sheet although the first half was poor we all dug deep at the back and the desire to ensure that we were not going to concede was magnificant and it speaks volumes because we as a 3 want to defend hard and win our challenges but it also helps big time when the chances we create are taken and it doesnt matter how you win these days but wining and not conceding a goal brings the extra luxury and rewards the MUSKATEERS extra GOLD at last.
Just like to say well done to the boys and all those involved at the club that the result was so important to everyone and wonderful for me to sink my old club A B S O L U T E L Y B R I L L I A N T..........
The Dream conitnues............
