Sporting Club Thamesmead
In February 2008, Trust Thamesmead received planning permission from Bexley Council to go ahead with Sporting Club Thamesmead - a £4m redevelopment of Bayliss Avenue, the home of Thamesmead Town Football Club, to transform it into a community sports centre.
This planning permission grants the ‘demolition of the existing clubhouse (Thamesmead Town Football Club) and erection of replacement clubhouse incorporating a spectator seating area, provision of a new floodlit all-weather pitch, two multi-use games areas, car park and landscaping’.
The new facilities will be completed in June 2010 and will provide a "Blue Square Confernece" standard stadium for the Football Club and will be open every day of the week for the community, with gym and leaisure facilites, which will be used by local schools and the community.
Along with the F.A. Charter Stander awarded to the football club, this will enable Thamesmead Town to develop youth football for boys and girls in the local area as well as offering first cloach coacing and community links in the highest qulaity facilities.
We have detailed every step of the process, from planning stage and will continue through development right up to opening in 2010.
