Sporting Club Thamesmead - Construction

May 2009 - July 2010

Construction work began on site on Monday 11 May.

The construction of the new facilities will take place around the pitch during 2009/10 season, where the existing clubhouse shall remain.

This meticuous planning allows Thamesmead Town Football Club to fulfill all of their home fixtures at Bayliss Avenue during the season as the work progresses.

Work has really gathered pace, as you can see from the photos below taken on July 1st.

By the time of the fist home pre-season friendly the ground will have:

-A new path on all four sides;

-New hand rails, surrounding the pitch;

- Flootlights re-installed in new positions;

- New solid fence surrounding the ground

The new arrangements will bring spectators close to the pitch on all sides and will provide a comfortable atmoshphere, even during construction.
